Getting lg ip menu with magic remote11/2/2022 Next go to Universal Control Settings and follow prompts there to setup your sound bar. Next select Device Connection Settings and go to Simplink (HDMI-CEC) and turn this feature on. Now go back to the menu options and go down to Connection. Here is where you should go to Sound to double check that your sound output is Optical. From there you should see on your left a list of menu setting options. To get this to work, plug in your optical cable from your sound bar to your TV, then go to the Home Dashboard and select the Optical sound button in your dashboard. I kept thinking Connection would be the place to go to connect to the internet and have nothing to do with your sound so never ventured there for some time. The real trick is knowing to work on the sound setup through the Connection tab from the setting menu. So I hope my below description will help those in the future of searching and wasting time. #Getting lg ip menu with magic remote how toI searched all over the internet to no avail until I found a couple people talking about CX and connection issues via Universal setup process, but no mention of how to do it. The CX’s we do interface seems to be different and has a different way of getting to the appropriate settings for sound control on a sound bar. The issue I kept coming across is most people describing their issues with C9s or other LG models but nothing really outlining what to do for the CX. #Getting lg ip menu with magic remote tvAfter doing some searching I saw most people saying the TV could control the sound bar via the magic remote avoiding the need for two remotes. My sound bar only has optical out connection, so at first I thought it was a limitation of the optical out control. I quickly realized that I could not get my magic remote to control my Vizio sound bar and became quickly obsessed with trying to troubleshoot it using online forums and recommendations. I never really post stuff to Reddit, but thought I’d share my issue I was having and how I fixed it.Įssentially I just got my LG CX a couple days ago and was excited to get everything setup. TLDR: Optical->Connection->Device Connection Settings Go to Simplink (HDMI-CEC) turn on Go to Universal Control Settings and follow prompts to setup the sound barįrom there I found the magical buttons to select to allow the LG magic remote to control my sound bar.
